Introducing Jersey Honey Soap

We are delighted to be highlighting one of our favourite products from our lovely range of Jersey grown and made products – Don Anfray’s Jersey Honey Soap.

Firstly you may be wondering just who is Don Anfray? Don is one of our friends and neighbours here on the lovely Channel Island of Jersey and he is also an amazing bee keeper. Bees and lavender are best friends, with our lovely lavender providing lots of gorgeous flowers and nectar for the bees to feast upon, and the bees in turn pollinating our lavender – a pretty good deal if you ask us! From his hives Don produces not only jars and jars of utterly gorgeous honey, but also combs full of beeswax, both of which he uses to produce this wonderful soap.

Don’s honey soap contains absolutely no synthetic fragrance; its divine smell simply comes from the wonderful honey. The soap also contains some of Don’s beeswax which when blended into the soap acts as a surfactant, creating a natural barrier on the skin, which will protect it from toxins and from drying out, whilst also allowing the skin to breathe. Beeswax also has calming and soothing properties for the skin due to its anti-inflammatory action.

This wonderful soap not only contains Don’s wonderful honey and beeswax, but is also formulated with the addition of goat’s milk. Goat’s milk has a number of beneficial properties for the skin (as well as making seriously good cheese!), these include:

  • Alpha Hydroxy Acids – goat’s milk contains a range of beneficial AHA’s, such as lactic acid which help to remove dead cells from your skin’s surface, exposing fresh new cells that leave your skin looking revitalised.
  • Vitamin A – goat’s milk is particularly high in Vitamin A, which is necessary to repair damaged skin tissue and to maintain healthy skin.
  • Good fat’s – all good soap contains some form of fat molecules, and those present in the cream from the goat’s milk are particularly beneficial. They work in harmony with your skin to suffuse it with moisture, making this soap exceptionally good for people with dry skin conditions.
  • Selenium – goat’s milk is very high in the mineral Selenium. Selenium is not only believed to play an important role in preventing cancer, but it can also help to protect the skin from the damaging effects of the sun.

So, why not treat yourself, or someone you love to a wonderful bar and Don’s Jersey Honey Soap today – we’re sure that you’ll just love it!
